Health and Safety
SIGCSE TS 2023 will be an In-Person Event with Remote Participation Available
TS 2023 will take place from March 15 to 18, 2023, with the in-person component in Toronto, Canada and the virtual component hosted on an online platform. The TS 2023 committee is dedicated to providing the community with the best possible conference experience for all participants regardless of the modality of their participation.
The health and safety of the TS 2023 family — participants and volunteers alike — remains a top priority. With a focus on coming together safely this March, we will be implementing the safety protocols below for all in-person participants. While the information provided here is accurate at the time of writing changes may be necessary on short notice to comply with government mandates.
Proof of Vaccination
If you are attending TS 2023 in-person you will be required to attest to being fully vaccinated as part of the registration process. This will be done on the honor system – no proof of vaccination documents will be collected. Individuals attending the TS online are not required to be fully vaccinated.
Masks
Face masks are optional, but encouraged. Masks are an effective way to prevent the spread of many common respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, RSV, and the flu, in crowded indoor spaces, and as such, we encourage their use. We ask that you respect each individual’s choice about whether or not to wear a mask.
Social Distancing
Buttons will be available, similar to what was provided in 2022, to indicate individual’s preference for handshakes, elbow bumps or no physical contact. Seating is currently planned to be standard conference seating.
