It is our pleasure to provide both online and in-person participation for SIGCSE TS 2023 attendees in the form of in-person, hybrid, or online sessions. The online component of the technical symposium will be hosted on Webex Events (formerly known as Socio). In this blog, we give an overview of what you have access to as an online attendee.

As an online attendee, you can watch a live stream of the keynote presentations with live chat available for asking questions during the presentation. All papers (online and in-person) will have a pre-recorded and captioned video available on the conference platform. By attending the Authors’ Corner sessions you can connect with the authors who are presenting online and have discussions with them about their papers. Some in-person authors may also choose to attend the Authors’ Corner. Authors’ Corner sessions will take place at various times during the conference.

Some posters, demos, lightning talks, and BOFs are fully online. You can see the program page and filter by the Online Badge to find what will be online. Some workshops are offered twice, once in each modality. To find the online offering look at the room number, it should state “Online A, B, C, or D”.

If you are attending the SIGCSE TS for the first time, you can attend the First Timers’ lunch online as it is offered in a hybrid modality. This is an opportunity to meet other first-time attendees and learn some tips on how to make the most of your time during SIGCSE TS.

Finally, there will be many online hangout sessions you can choose to attend such as special interest group meetings, virtual coffee breaks, and more. We will post these sessions on the program as we finalize them. To see the most up-to-date program, go to the SIGCSE TS 2023 program page.
