The SIGCSE Technical Symposium 2023 is only a week away. We are so excited to get together, either in Toronto or online, and are here to help you have an outstanding symposium experience. So time for a bunch of information to get ready.
We will be using Webex Events (formerly Socio) as our online platform. To access it go to the link below and create an account using the email address you used to register. Once you have an account you will be able to explore the platform and access the pre-recorded videos.

Alternatively or in addition, you can install the the Webex phone app:
Saturday Table Topics for in-person and online attendees: The Hybrid Committee is working hard to figure out how to create more engagement. In that spirit, we are organizing table topic discussions during Saturday’s lunch. On Thursday you can suggest topics. We will vote on topics on Friday. And Saturday you will find in-person tables or online video rooms labeled with topics. For those that will participate in-person, suggest topics and vote near the Games and Puzzles booth (where you can also vote on the logo). For those that will participate online, you can suggest topics and vote on the Saturday lunch agenda item. All are welcome to participate, whether you purchased a box lunch or not.
For the non-Canadians who are attending in person, remember you need your passport! Our Symposium Co-chair Maureen Doyle wrote a blog post about her experience traveling to Toronto back in August for a site visit. All attending in person can find suggestions and information for travel and attendance on the conference website. The proceedings are now live in the ACM Digital Library. We encourage you to check out the proceedings and hope that you will find them helpful in deciding which sessions to attend at SIGCSE TS 2023. They are available here:
- For volume 1 (regular paper tracks): https://dl.acm.org/doi/proceedings/10.1145/3545945
- For volume 2 (all other tracks): https://dl.acm.org/doi/proceedings/10.1145/3545947
There are a lot of web pages on the symposium website to help you prepare:
- Conference App: Navigating WebEx
- In-Person Participation Information
- Online Participation Information
- Have a question or wondering about something? Try the SIGCSE Chair’s blog posts. We are all working hard to quality check everything. However, there are times that we don’t achieve perfection. If you find an issue that needs fixing please fill out the issues notification form.
Looking forward to seeing you all next week in person or online!
