Community Colleges Perspectives: From Challenges to Considerations in Curricula DevelopmentIn-PersonCC
Every decade since Curriculum 68, ACM has developed international curricular guidelines for undergraduate Computer Science (CS) curricula. In Spring 2021, the joint work of the ACM, IEEE- Computer Society, and AAAI started the effort to revise the previous Computer Science Curricula 2013. This effort is currently referred to as CS 2023. As part of this effort, a collection of curricular practice articles are included in the CS2023 effort. One of the curricular practices in Computer Science Education in Community Colleges. This BoF engages computer science educators from various community colleges to recognize features such as under- graduate degrees’ characteristics, curricular needs/challenges, and the general direction of community colleges for the next decade. Leaders of this particular BoF will consider these features for elaborating the final document.
